18 August 2011 No Comment

A lot of people are already claiming that they are social media experts. It is true that anyone can be a part of a social networking site but marketing a business is much more complicated than just socializing with friends. You need to know how to recognize a real social media specialist from others who are just claiming to be one. This is the only way for you to determine the person who is worth paying for. Here are some questions that you should ask before you approve of a socialmedia specialist:

  • Since when have you been using your marketing skills through social media? A real expert would know how to explain this new form of marketing to you in the most basic terms. Social media has long been around but it was just used recently for marketing businesses online.

  • What is your background? Make sure that the expert already has a lot of experience in helping other business to make sure that your site will not be an experimental project.

  • Are you using social media marketing for your business too? This is when you have to check his Facebook, Twitter and other social networking sites. Ask him if he has a blog too where he showcases his marketing skills.

  • Can you show me your portfolio? This should be composed of case histories about the clients that the expert has previously worked for.

  • Can you explain to me what you know about social media marketing? This will help you understand the applications that the expert can give you.

  • Are you a registered service provider? Ask for proof of affiliations with trusted business organizations for your assurance.
